Found My Dream, Tangible School

So I have finally found a school that is definitely within reach of where I am as a student, and I am in love, but I am afraid I don’t have a tremendous chance of being accepted. There have been steady decreases in acceptance rate and I don’t know how I fit in.

It has D3 athletics and I am being recruited by the coach, so I want to get this opportunity in addition to having phenomenal job opportunities. Unfortunately, while my SAT/ACT is well above the accepted average, my GPA is probably in the bottom third or maybe even quarter and my rank is even lower. I want to do all I can to try to get accepted here and I wanted to know what you recommend. I will be interviewing, so I assume that can help my chances but I really want to do all I can at this point.

Thanks for reading this.

(Also is it possible to withhold my rank from being sent since some schools do not rank? Or do I have to since my school does?)

I’m pretty sure that you can’t have your rank withheld because your rank is on the official transcript, which I believe is sealed by your school and signed on the envelope to ensure that it isn’t messed with.

Unfortunately, your rank can’t be withheld, but most colleges don’t think of rank as a make or break decision.

First I highly recommend you NOT have a dream school. No one should place all their hope on one place. Second, have you looked at the Common Data Set of the school to see what they use for admission? It’s possible rank isn’t part of it. Look at section C7
