Has anyone who applied early action recieved a Founders Award yet? I applied early action, got accepted with the personal application, but haven’t heard any word about any schoarlships. I have a 1380 (690 on both),a 3.7, 6 APs and 6 honors, lots of ec’s, and I go to a nationaly ranked public school. Am I already out of the running for any chance of getting scholarship money?

As I recall my sons acceptence and scholarship offer came in pretty close proximity but not in the same letter. Of course he applied regular decision. I think but am not positive that somewhere in the EA info it says the school still makes its awards decisions at the same time they make them for the regular admission students. So basically what I am saying is just because you have not heard does not mean they will not make an offer. Son’s award letter was dated Feb 25, 2003.

You can always call the admissions office. I am sure they would be glad to give you the straight skinny as opposed to my hearsay.

When I called Admissions during early January, after the first wave of scholarship letters came out, they said that they would be processing EA merit money decisions until the end of January. Don’t know about RD or the kids accepted with the personal app promising 4 week turnaround time as I only asked about EA applicants who were accepted but were still waiting on merit money. They said it varied somewhat by who was handling things - some were getting out faster than others. So I imagine you are still in the running if you haven’t heard yet.

The whole merit money thing is kind of odd because they have all these different dates about when EA kids are supposed to recieve stuff. Thanks for helping.

thats so weird… it seems like no one has received a founders award… i dont think they would have eliminated them altogther… i wouldnt be too worried because no one else got one yet either… but i don’t know why you’d think they would send them out with the other scholarships… its strange

yeah…I don’t think that they elimated them or anything, but there sure are really slow in getting out info. I just fell a lot better now knowing that no one else got one. But, I hope thety get them out asap…cause I’m going to need some money if I even want to think about going to Tulane. so expensive…

try and call… i hear they are really helpful on the phone
