The video is done interviewing purely, or mostly, asian students and making fun of their accents and ability to pronounce certain words. It seems pretty racist to me

After watching the entire clip, I’d agree that it seems overtly racist. The Fox “reporter” obviously went out of his way to interview a specific group of students at USC. The campus also looked empty— was this done during the summer when most undergrads are gone?

It also appeared to me that he was making fun of these students. He makes sure it is obvious that they don’t know very much about football, and their ability to speak and understand English is questioned. It wasn’t humorous in the least to me.

Really pathetic. I wonder how well that nitwit interviewer would have done if he tried to conduct the interview in a language other than English?

Fox has pulled the video and the interviewer was fired. On the SC campus is a language institute where students may stay and learn English. These may be the students targeted.

International students whose first language is not English must make a satisfactory score on an English competency examination before being allowed to enroll.

I agree with the previous poster. It would be interesting to have the interviewer asked questions in an Asian language and see how well he could respond.

According to an article on another website a spokesman for FOX, Lou D’Ermilio, has apologized to the university. He stated the show where the video was featured has been cancelled.

On the USC website there is an open letter to the Trojan family regarding the video and the university’s response to the program.
