Is this competition extremely prestigious? If I do end up as one of the top 15 winners, how good will it look on my college application?
It definitely is - there’s a very low acceptance rate considering only 100 poems out of 11,000 were chose last year (top 15 and 85 commended). However, this should definitely not be the only addition to your honors/awards section and, in poetry, you should also show your passion through your extracurriculars.
