<p>Only you have the context of the entire essay, but I’d lean towards a word that lends itself more to reconciliation than a more severe “torn” or “fractured.” I’m not sure which word to substitute , but something that relays a temporary condition could be more adequate. Regardless, take a deep breath, step back. It’s only one word, you’ll be ok!!</p>
<p>Ok I think in the context of the essay “torn” would be slightly less severe than “fractured”. Dude I’m having convulsions over here, the deadline for this essay is hours away. Procrastination >_></p>
