Fratty School that is more liberal and laid back?

<p>What are some schools that have big greek scenes but aren’t exactly super super conservative in their political orientation (like SMU hah)</p>

<p>A plus would be near waves or mountains, and a good academic school as well.</p>

<p>I have about a 3.6-3.7 W GPA and a 2070 SAT.</p>

<p>If you apply ED, go for Duke or Dartmouth. You have a decent shot if u get your scores up.</p>

<p>^ Yeah, I mean, in comparison to the other top 10 schools, my beloved Duke and dingy Dartmouth (kidding :p) are pretty “fratty,” but they’re nothing compared to a state school like SMU or W&L…</p>

<p>SMU (southern meth, not southern miss) and W&L are private.</p>

<p>How close do the mountains need to be? If you’re willing to drive a little, the Ozarks aren’t too far from St. Louis. 25% of students at WUSTL are involved in the Greek system, and the student body is definitely liberal. </p>

<p>Penn is also very Greek as well as liberal, but the mountains are a bit farther away.</p>

<p>Syracuse University seems to fit that description pretty well. (Not near waves, but there’s a bunch of ski/snowboard stuff right outside of the city.) Newhouse is a pretty good school, if you’re into studying communications. The Greek scene/party life is pretty huge up there, and the kids and professors seem to be pretty liberal. There’s a good mix of hippies and preps in the student body.</p>
