You can’t be a 3.97 UW, but only a 4.0 W if you’ve already taken 4 year-long AP courses.

You might want to re-post after you’ve figured out what your real GPA numbers are.

it is technically higher than 4.0 but my school does not allow anything above 4.0 even though I had avg above 100. I got a B that had 10 point added due to the nature of AP course.

I have been regularly getting 2100s-2200s on my practice sats but the SAT score is the FIRST one I took so I was somewhat nervous. If I did get a score that ranged in the above scores, how much boost would I get?

Thank you so much guys for your help

PS: what is a good definition of “reach”. I know it is when I have to bust my butt to get in there but in what things do I have to bust my behind?

The grades I have right now in my senior classes if this is also considered:
AP stat: 98
AP english: 92
ap calc: 99
ap econ: 96
ap span: 93
ap bio: 95
(all without the 10 points)

Gender and ethnicitiy?

I’m guessing you’re Korean?

when it comes to the math section of the sat I, I imagine admissions officers will give you some sort of reprieve because of your high sat II scores.
also, with your stats, a well written essay might be all it takes to take the focus off of low cr and writing scores.

i am korean male (but I dont uber study every night if that’s the normal stereotype lol).

Also, thanks scared6378 for the response. If I also added UPENN into that list, how are my chances in there. I’m just looking for a laidback/fun social life and respectable/prestigious college (UPENN seems to be one).

Thanks again guys for the help.

bump 10 char

Pretty tough senior schedule there.

The thing is, your SAT I is extremely sub-par for all your top choices (Northwestern and up), and your ECs are also extremely sparse.

Why do you want prestige anyways? Just something to brag about? You just look at schools that will really benefit you, not ones that just look good on paper. What do you want to study?

Retake SAT in December if you have registered; look for those Jan SAT schools if you insist on going somewhere “respectable/prestigious.”
MIT is out; Rice and NU is high reach just because of SAT(Below 25th percentile + Asian is a pretty bad combo), EC/Awards look golden.

yeah what noobcake said

Thanks guys for the information. Lets, pretend I get a SAT scored ranging from 2000-2200 (more or less). What are my chances at UPENN instead of MIT?

At first, I didn’t care for school. Drugs, gangs, ■■■■■■■■ stuff can be added in the mix. Then for one summer, I worked at my parent’s store. (theyworked for 12hrs just to provide me and my sister an education and good life). I realized that my ignorance and stupidity were not helping the matters. Ever since then, I try to do well in school and stay focus. That’s my main reason why I want prestige, just so that I can payback my parents for all the bullcrap.

I want to major in something that involves me directly helping others. I’ve always had a passion to help people that were “less fortunate.” I randomly help people that needs assistance if that paints a better image in yalls head.

Since I do not know any major that involves summitting to others (besides Doctors), I am settling with engineering since I do OK in science.

Thanks guys for the continuing support.

bump 10 char

try the ACT?

I want to but the only time I can truly study is after college app/SAT. Will most colleges accept ACT in jan?

Whoa, you get 10 points added for AP classes?!

bump 10 char
