Freaking out over my free response answer in AP Language?

During my final essay, the argumentative one that allowed you to go on a political rampage, I think I ended up sounding really idiotic and somewhat offensive–possibly off topic too. I’m worried about how my scorer is going to interpret it. I was in a rush, so I didn’t think as clearly as I should’ve :/

I think my other essays were decent. The final essay is the only one I’m losing sleep over. I’m just hoping I won’t end up getting a 1 or 2 for my bigoted viewpoints, or maybe jailed for stupidity. Should I cancel my scores? :c

The exams are graded in America, you know. You’re not going to be jailed for speaking your mind. And, if you do think that your essay was off-topic, that alone will hurt your score for that essay, but the grader can’t give you a 1 or 2 on the whole exam for one weird essay.

Yeah, I kinda did the same thing. I challenged, and mentioned how the Patriot Act stripped individuals of a government based on “humans rights and equality” (something like that from the prompt). Also talked about the disproportionate distribution of wealth in the country, and how the poor were in fact, oppressed.

Personally, I think it was pretty open for a political rant but idk…

Well, if it helps, the people grading tend to be more liberal, so they may let it slide.

Thanks–my argument kind of fell into a political category of it’s own, though, I guess.

Hypothetically speaking, even if a student wrote about white supremacy, praising Hitler, anti-women’s sufferage or other equally extreme ideas, could they still receive a good score granted their argument is presented well? I didn’t write about those things lol I’m just curious on how far a student can actually go…
