Freakonomics

Considering how much Freakonomics is probably mentioned in the ‘Why’ essays, do you think one should definitely NOT use it?

I kind of want to quote a bit from it (rather than the usual ‘I read it and it was fascinating, like the UofC’ etc.) but I feel that the book is probably so overused that Admission officers might not like it.

I didn’t use freakonomics, but I used carl sagan, which may be used a lot as well. If you truly enjoyed freakonomics, feel free to use it in your essay. I got in without an amazing Why Chicago, although my long essay was really good.

I used the hipster’s choice: Risk, Uncertainly, and Profit. What? You probably haven’t heard of it xD.
