<p>I am not sure which offer this is, but last year Key Bank offered an ipod if you opened a free student checking and maintained it for 6 months. They also had you apply for their credit card, I did as expected and never received the free ipod. i closed the account and complained to customer service. They offered no explanation. I will never do business with them again.</p>
<p>BTW, this came by way of a promotional mailer in the mail with a promotion code. When I opened it online, there was never any mention of the ipod, jus the steps needed to take. That should have been the red flag.</p>
<p>Our daughter did this a couple years ago – opened up savings and checking accounts and got a credit card with Key Bank. She got the free iPod (in fact, instead of getting the older one that was being advertised, she got a redesigned one that had just been introduced). So this deal worked great for us!</p>
<p>I thought the new legislation made this type of deal illegal. I’m surprised it’s still around.</p>
