Free Standing Closet

Son will be in a dorm with a free standing closet this year. Last year he used a built in closet. Are those things big enough to hang everything, or do you need to buy something additional?

My oldest had a free standing closet freshman year and he managed to get everything in it. I would prbably wait and see.

Thank you. They claim it is the same size as a closet, but I know it is not as big as the huge closet that he enjoyed last year.

My daughter had a armoire freshman year- it had a drawer on the bottom and you could also store things on top
Her bed was raised with drawers underneath-it really was quite organized and lots of room for everything- she did bring a small bookcase and a steamer trunk- a smaller bookcase came with the room

Thanks EK. My son does have a small shelf that goes on top of his desk. I am thinking that I need to at least buy some good under the bed storage. I think that I will have him buy whatever else is needed after we see how it all fits. The room size is very large, so they can add more furniture if it is needed.

Maybe pick up a few of those BIG Command Adhesive hooks. He can stick them on the outside and hang up his jacket or whatever. They really do come off without damaging surfaces - although be sure to read the directions.

weenie, I will. That does take care of the bulk of a couple of jackets. I am going to get more than one. The walls are cinder block so it should not be a problem.
