Free Tickets to Hamilton at Northwestern

It may just be because I really want to see the show, but this does not seem to be the best use of tuition money. I get that they are connecting it to the summer reading book, but a local showing of 1776 would have served the purpose.

But what lucky students!

My guess is they have cheaper seats and are getting a group rate. I’m okay with it. Most schools spend a decent amount on first year programming and activities. Better on culture than on silly games and junk food.

Plus, good marketing. We’re talking about it after all.

Some schools have massive endowments, if you’ve noticed.

And yes, topline tuition prices now are insane.

A better expenditure than many other things I can think of that colleges spend money on. (Jello pit parties funded by dorm entertainment funds?)
