French & PE courses

Hi,

FRENCH:
I took French for 3 years in high school, but skipped French 2 and thus graduated with taking French Language AP (score: 3). I think that I fit the requirements to take French 3, but I’m not very confident in my French and would like to build a strong background and not have to struggle too much my first semester. What level of French would you recommend? Also, all the classes are labeled as the instructor being Chavdarian (for French 2) even though some times are the same, how is this possible, and who will be my actual teacher?

Also, PEIS major requires 4 semesters of language, so if I start at French 2, can I stop at French 4 or do I need to take 4 actual semsters?

PE:
I’m interested in taking a self-defense or yoga PE class. What are your experiences with this? Is it a waste of time? I’d really like a relaxing laid back class, and not have to worry about PE! Would it look “bad” to take it as P/NP?

Thanks in advance!!

anyone? please. haha

Why don’t you just take PE as a grade?

4 semesters means 4 semesters…

It certainly would not look bad to take PE P/NP–I mean, if you decide to apply for grad school in political economy, the admissions people would care more for your major coursework/research and your GPA rather than some triviality like a PE class.

anyway, I don’t see why anyone would take PE as a grade…considering that each PE class is 0.5 units, even an A would hardly raise your GPA at all due to the grade points being weighted according to how many units a class is.

well, there isn’t even a ‘French 5’. I heard that if they require 4 semesters, I just need to go up to the 4th college semester of that language, and I’m wondering if this is accurate…

French 25.
