freshamn year

okay i’m already taking geometry my freshman year, my school doesnt have AP classes but college. am i doing good so far. i’m also taking spanish II already??
Help me someone.

Skip as much math as possible.
When I say skip, I mean learn really quickly so you can take higher level math courses.

Spanish II is fine, keep taking spanish every year.

most freshmen take geometry and spanish II. you’re fine.

I don’t see what could possibly be wrong, its the first transcript year. Get all A’s freshman year is a cakewalk. Just remember to never give up and don’t waste time, and don’t ever go to bed unless you know everything is done. Good luck. :)

Not necessarily. It depends on one’s courses, one’s background, one’s teachers, and the nature of the school (if it’s customary for about 3% of enrolled students to get straight As within a term, then it’s clearly not a cakewalk). What one needs to do is do one’s best taking a reasonable yet challenging schedule. Learn from your mistakes, your bad grades, etc. This will save some trouble in college, when fewer grades per class really magnifies any issues you have with procrastination, study skills, writing, etc.

skipping as much math as you can will likely leave you ill-prepared in the basics which will be critical skills in higher math such as calculus.

What I meant was learning it thoroughly and quickly.

yea i want to become a csi, lawyer, or a dctor

IB dude always comments on skipping math… but honestly there are kids that get 5 on AP calc BC exams skipping precalc… so… W/e!!! I agree, self study maths during the summer so you can skip, you will be happy you did later…

This doesn’t work for everyone, though. You have to be motivated enough, use a good enough textbook, and be absolutely sure you’ve covered everything of importance. I did it, I know people who tried to and failed. If you’re going to try, make sure with your teachers that it’s not a bad idea for you, first.

yeah… lol. Umm… some kids aren’t motivated enough to. If you really were interested in doing something like that, talk to your geometry teacher at the end of the semester, talk to your counsler, then talk to the Algerbra II teacher and see if she/he will give you the book and help you out (email over the summer?). I would advise taking the final at the end of the summer to make sure you passed and are ready. You can do this with almost any class to get ahead, it is quite nice =)

Well yes, I acknowledge that, but I’m just sharing my personal experience.
