My 1st essay is app. 553 words. Is this enough in your opinions?

yea. as long as it’s not RIDICULOUSLY long or way toooooo short.

Is 900 words too long?

^lol. Mine was 1100 words. It got me in.

NICE! And San Diego is only sunny when sun is above the smog line, while Portland Oregon always has sunshine, be it liquid or massless.

Actually Tainter, 900 words is too long…haha just kidding. The smog is not as big of problem as it is in Los Angeles. Don’t hate on San Diego, because you know your family is traveling here for the summer. lol.

1100 words!?! did you send in a Pulitzer-winning novel or something? That’s really really long!!

It was a Pulitzer-winning novel! How’d ya know? lol. I had a lot to say and since there isn’t a word limit, I just went all out. Everything I had to say was important. And anyways, I saw some kid in a thread talking about how his essay was 1800 words.

actually it the kid in another thread has a 1665 word pg 217 essay. I think he trimmed it down a little. But still.

Mine is 438 words. They either like what I have to say or they don’t.

Okay, I’ll admit it. San Diego ain’t too bad as long as you aren’t tryin to do any physical activity. If you try you end up cough on smog and dying of heat. Perfect temp is 65 degrees F

The way my essay is going it will probably be in the 400-500 word range.

MUHAHAHAHA…(evil laugh…)

i actually have 4 solid pages for $10 essay.,…(JHU)

I thought it was 3… but not I see it, it’s 4 ****ING PAGES!!!

but I’m proud of it. I really love it… hope they read it…(and not throw it away./)

I should say mine IS bit too long… lol///

but it’s a short story(not essay). no way to reduce it. and I’m totally not going to reduce it.

Good for you happyggal for standing strong and not conforming to <1000 word essays. Tainter: Really, there is no big smog problem in San Diego.

mine was even longer than lucky98’s essay; my essay was 1450! Just fit the entire essay into one page and if it’s quality, it shouldn’t pose as a impediment to your application chances. Mine got me in :D

How’d ya get 1450 words onto one page. That must have been some interesting margin cutting and font size reducing.

my 700 words seem pretty reasonable huh???

700 words seems to be the midr-range of essay word length. Anything is reasonable as long as it conveys a message. lol. this sounds too sentimental. 700 words is reasonable.

my bad, my essay was 1515 words long, just checked. Anyway, i used size 9 Times New Roman font and they started from the tip of the A4 size paper - it was much easier because i used the paper application - right down to the bottom of the paper. The lines stretched to the extreme sides of the paper as well, essentially filling the entire A4 size paper with black fonts.
