Freshman burnout

I am a writer for the SF Chronicle Magazine and I’m working on a story about how hard students have to work to get into competitive colleges these days and what happens to them once they get there. Are they burned out? Statistics say that more and more kids are actually dropping out during their freshman year because they feel burned out and empty–sometimes because their parents pushed them harder than was healthy–but somehow I haven’t managed to interview anyone who feels this way. If you tell me your story I don’t necessarily have to use your name. Feel free to email me.
