Hey guys,
I’m tracking down all my textbooks. The only one that has eluded me is ENGR 0711-HONORS ENGR ANAL & COMPUTING. Does anyone know what textbook this class uses, if any?

It’s the textbook written by Dr. Dan Budny (name eludes me currently). It’s a ridiculously paper-back tome that you can ONLY ever buy at a bookstore at campus (he’s notorious for updating it every year, requiring you to get the latest edition every year). It’s a ridiculous $120, but you do actually use a LOT of it. You can find it at the Pitt Bookstore or Got Used on campus.

I believe the lab manuals are also only available at the bookstore. I could never find them on Amazon :(

Alright guys, thanks for the info. I guess I’ll grab that one through the bookstore.

Yep. At least the one you needed for Honors Chem Lab was only in the Pitt Bookstore, because it was a specific type of manual that was grid paper that always included a carbon copy which you had to turn into your TA. Luckily I think it was only around $15-$20 for that, but I didn’t use most of the pages, which was annoying.

Yup, the professor writes it, and it’s probably the worst textbook I’ve ever used. There’s typos on every page, plus some of his coding isn’t quite right… but whatever, you pretty much have to get it.

Except when you take tests that he’s also written so that you can conveniently find what you need in the book (the programming part of the exams are always open book). Also, better to buy an overpriced book and use it instead of buying an overpriced book just so I can do my 50 HW problems for the semester (that’s happened too). Meh. Not the worst book I’ve ever had, I used to to get a jump start on assignments and it was helpful enough for me to learn HTML coding on my own, so…
