<p>Welcome College Confidential people I live in Southern California and come from a lower class filipino family. This is my first thread so sorry if this is messy. I took Algebra and Geometry in 7th and 8th so I’m one of the accelerated students. I wanted to take AQVID but opted to fulfill my A-G requirements and took Spanish. I have to do many things now in order to fix some possible issues that may arise from my acceleration and me for my college resume.Here is a basic list</p>

<p>-I have a very bad memory so I forgot things I learn a lot so I need to regain memory for test for my SAT or ACT and SATII SPANISH
-I could use my notebooks but due to my disorganization I lost my Spanish notebooks and Math Notebooks
-I write really slow
-The Spanish class wasn’t really challenging or practical for the matter(sorry teacher) and because of it I forgot much of the material
-I need to organize or else
-I need to find more passions
-I need to read more
I’m a 9th grader at a Junior High so heres my resume history so far</p>

<p>Extracurriculars:
Significant Extracurriculars 2 years of math team(7th and 8th grade)
2 years of Knowledge Bowl(7th and 8th)
Leadership positions 9th grade ASB store manager(for this current year)</p>

<p>College Summer programs Wahupa Upward Bound(also a yearly program)</p>

<p>Any suggestions to improve my ECs actually I was considering forming some clubs or maybe even enter into a more “elite” summer program honestly I’m considering to do some AP classes independently while taking other AP classes. My district has a program called compact for sucess which aims to help first generation stusents(like me) get into college it has college mentroring has one of its benefits and lets you go to SDSU if you follow certain preconditions. <p>I commend you on your early interest. You most certainly can reach for the ivy’s. My advice would be to find something your passionate about early and try to focus an app around that. Those kinds of schools like to see a real passion within their students. Try to intern, volunteer or possibly work in the field that you want to be in. For example try to volunteer in a hospital if you want to be a doctor, or intern with a civil engineering firm if you want to be an engineer. There are so many possibilities, especially for minorities. You just need to look and prove interest. </p>
