for my first semester im signed up for:

econ 1 (4 units)
com lit R1B (4 units)
educ 24 (1 unit)
espm 2 (3 units)
history 7A (4 units)

that’s 16 units & the counselor recommended not going over 15. is that going to be too much to handle for the first semester?

thanks!

you should be fine.

Econ 1 looks like it will be your toughest class.

I hope you don’t mind if I also post my schedule question here:

Right now, I have 15.5 units, but my mother really doesn’t want me to go over 14 units. I get sick easily if I over stress myself, so I’m tempted to side with her and ease into taking 15 after I get better acclimated to the school.

Most of my classes are tu/th, and so I have one hour of discussion mon/wed, and an 8-week long freshman seminar for two hours on wed. No class on friday.

BUT on tuesday, I have class form 8 am to 6 pm., with two 30-min breaks, and on thursday i have class from 8-3:30. Is this a silly thing to have such long days even though I get to sleep in 3 days a week?

psycheycho, 8am-6pm can be stressfull, u might handle it okay the first 2 weeks but midway through the semester you will get sick of the long day, feel sleepy on and off, and burn yourself out before the semester ends. Plus, there is only so much you can learn in one day and 9 hours of class time on Tuesday is just ridiculously long

However, if you decide to skip 1-2 classes on tuesday than you should be fine. you will realize that some classes are just not worth attending (ie. lectures for math 16a, ugba 102a) [all the material in some courses can easily be learned by reading the book]

^
8-6pm with 2 30 min breaks. It’s fine.

First semester. I had classes 8-6:30. with a break from 12-1.
