After reading a few threads about self-studying AP tests and how many tests some people have taken, it doesn’t seem that common for freshman to be preparing for any. Is it?

not really, i am guessing it is b/c they haven’t even really taken ap’s at school at all…so as freshman you would not really know the difficulty/way to study…or maybe it is just b/c as a freshman, ap’s are not a main concern…

If I would’ve known self-studying was possible, I would definitely have started with some of the easier AP’s as a freshman.

Though then again, at the time, AP Human Geography was a struggle enough! (Yeah, I know, embarrassing >_<) I ended up getting a four, though, which is ok.

I self studied AP World history as a freshman. Got a 5 and now a National scholar.

It teaches you something far beyond that of the “I colored the United States” type freshman classes. If you have the guts, then go for it.
