are there any sports journalism classes. Or anything that has to do with sports, period?

There are hundreds. Everything.

Check out the Class of site… I think that’s where they’re posted (or when/where they’ll tell you that they’re posted).

nope, notin to do wit sports cept sports and Anthropology. ***? they got likew 35 classes for africana studies and the whole deal. cant create one for sports? lame

It would be kind of subjective. I mean, imagine forcing a Yankees fan to write about Red Sox successes, that would violate all moral and ethical guidelines for treatment of human beings.

P.S. In my case, if someone made me write something good about the Steelers I would have to drop the class, no matter even if a “W” appeared on my transcript.

ummm… it doesnt have to be about a certain team. maybe a class on the evolution of sports, or study of sports personalities of the past, or… anything. there are so many you could do with this subject, at least more than… Africana studies.

or even a class named “the past, present, and future of soccer in america”. I would take that class in a heartbeat.

Sports aren’t the most academic of subjects. You ARE going to be getting an education, after all. There are probably other courses about sports available that you could take after your freshmen year.

true. just surprised its not recognized at all by the english department. sports journalism and writing in general is a big industry.

True, sports isn’t the most academic of subjects but alot of the freshman writing seminars are bogus anyways. I took feminism and I dont believe I will ever use my knowledge of the “commoditization of women” in the engineering world.

dysk, you’re an engineer '09? What’s your name, do I know you? (PM me)
