Freshmen can't park at uc merced?

<p>I heard that freshmen can’t have parking permits unless you fall under a certain criteria, which I don’t. They said you can getan OC permit which means you park at the Merced College lot.I have no idea what that means. Can someone who has information on this please shed some light on this issue?</p>

<p>You’d have to park at Merced College (as in the community college).</p>

<p>Also, some added info: Visitor spots open up for free parking at 4pm, there aren’t very many, but if you need to park on campus for an evening during the week, these make due. </p>

<p>There is a shuttle that takes you from campus to your car every 30mins/an hour, and you can park on campus wherever you want on weekends/fridays past 8pm(and I only say 8 to be safe)</p>
