Freshmen Fifteen?

AH I know, this should be the least of my worries… yet I still am concerned about the infamous freshmen fifteen… any current Columbia students (or hopefuls who know the answer) want to share their stories? Because Columbia is in Manhattan will students lose weight? Or will they gain a ton, just the same? Thanks guys!

It really depends on your personal choices and life. It’s avoidable if you watch yourself, but it’s easy not to avoid it also. If you are worried, just stay active and don’t drink too much alcohol.

I think the dining hall is a bigger problem than drinking alcohol is. It’s easy to go get dinner early (5-5:30ish) and wind up staying for 1-2 hours talking to people…it’s pretty common to overeat in those situations. A general lack of exercise by freshmen also helps.

I’ve lost weight despite eating a ton and trying to gain weight. :(

It’s called a “full button.”

gained about 12 pounds, but it’s prolly due to not doing much sports after coming to college :/
