Okay I don’t know if I am unnecessarily panicking, but I want to apply to Ross via Regular Admission. The three requirements are Econ 101, Writing, and Math. I was checking on the course guide and it seems like a lot of the Freshmen Writing Classes are filled up… My orientation date is July 22nd-24th. Will I be able to get a seat in a good Freshmen Writing Course? I need to complete the requirement to apply to Ross!
They open sections up during every orientation to make sure freshman get classes even in late July or early August. I’m sure you will be fine.
My D just returned from orientation. Also LSA. She had a hard time getting the classes she wanted. Limited Writing classes. Things filled up fast. She was told by her adviser to keep checking back as sections will continue to open up.
My S2 just returned from Orientation and was told during class registration that seats were ‘reserved’ for students attending future Orientation Days. You should be fine as @96blue stated. It sounds like you are already doing this, but I would encourage you to get familiar with the LSA Course Guide, registration system, ‘backpacking’, etc. My S2 set aside potential classes in his backpack prior to sitting down with his advisor. It is a challenge no matter when you attend Orientation to get 1) the class you want 2) days/times you want, so I would come to Orientation with a list of potential classes you might be interested in taking beyond the Ross required ones ( FYWR, Math, Econ) to provide yourself with some flexibility when building your schedule. The advisor that will work with you will be a ton of help.
