friend might get rescinded?

one of my friends who got accepted had really bad first semester grades and he’s really worried about his situation. I was wondering what his chances were with his grades:

ap stats-C
ap eng-C
ap econ-C
physics-B
some other non-ap class I forgot-B
service-A

is there anything he can do?

Yes,

Your friend has 3 C and 2 B in a-g courses

The admissions contract requires an unweighted OVERALL gpa for Sr. year of 3.0. This means your friend has 2 C grades that must be balanced by 3 A grades and 2 B grades in 2nd semester Sr. year, in order to get the unweighted Sr. year cumulative GPA up to 3.0. as follows for a combination of 1st and 2nd semesters of Sr. year:

3 C (3 1st Semester, 0 2nd Semester)
4 B (2 1st Semester, 2 2nd Semester)
3 A (0 1st Semester, 3 2nd Semester)

Is that doable? You’ve got to love the symmetry of it all. If your friend finishes in June with below 3.0 unweighted, I suggest he/she contacts admission immediately to try to work out re-taking one of the courses in Summer at Santa Monica College, or somewhere else like UCLA Extension. They might make enrollment conditional upon receiving an A grade to replace one of the C grades.
