<p>I love the vibe of small liberal arts school because of the ones I’ve visited people are extremely friendly, open and really genuine. </p>
<p>Any state/public schools you’ve found with a similar vibe? Most of the small schools don’t have my major.</p>

<p>elementary education (you usually can’t major in it, but it’s what I wanna study). cert in that, major in whatever. but elementary ed is the important one.</p>

<p>Pretty much any of the following increases a school’s friendliness</p>
<p>-mid-rank. Around 50-150. Any higher and arrogance/elitism develops. Any lower and people become less caring.<br>
-diverse, especially in terms of social class
-lack of sports scene, which necessarily requires rivalry</p>
<p>That said, the friendliest public schools I have been to is UCSC.</p>
<p>I’m in oregon, but I’d be fine wherever. ideally somewhere in the NW but…</p>
