<p>I was doing really good in my current university, until I toke my engineering core classes and they are the most failed classes in my school, I thought I can ace them since I toke them with confidence and optimism!
So, as the title says… From 2.75 to 1.73 in one term. Yes, I toke 4 courses and passed just one. What’s sad is before that I was gradually getting better with my GPA from 2.00 to 2.75 and BOOM, 1.73 -_-'</p>
<p>I had a lot of issues during that time, but now I’m motivated to get better, and I’m applying to transferring to another university, is there a possibility they would accept me? Based on my past? and my explanation in my personal statement?
I’m a international student, and this is my forth semester. Ow yea, I’m currently taking easy A courses to boost my GPA up! Problem is, the transfer application deadline is on the 1st of December, and my grades will be posted on maybe the 24th of Dec.</p>
<p>You’d have a hard enough time transferring anywhere else for engineering even if you went from a 1.75 cumulative to a 2.75 cumulative. I know this because that’s what I did (1.69 @ 83 credits to 2.75 @ 153) and I still got rejected by my state school. You have no chance of getting into any reputable people program, they don’t care about your essays, personal story, rec letters, school reputation, or anything other than your cumulative college gpa. </p>
<p>Your only shot at turning things around is to stop talking about motivation and plant your butt in the library until you come out with A’s.</p>
<p>Sorry for not clearing this out earlier, But I haven’t declared my major yet.
I’m undeclared. And those classes I toke we’re pre-engineer core classes that I had to take to declare my major.
And btw, I’m currently taking easy electives with an average GPA rating of a B or higher.
So by the end of this semester I hope to be on the range from 2.00 to 2.30 cumulative GPA.</p>
<p>I asked a few universities that I want to transfer as a “undeclared” student and then declare over there. Some said I could do that, and some said I could have a chance if I explain my situation in my personal statement while applying.</p>
<p>And also the universities I’m applying to are state universities with acceptance rates of 71% or 80%.
So that should increase my chances. I hope.</p>

If you do not have a cumulative GPA of 2.0, be sure to provide us with a complete picture of your academic profile by sharing any pertinent information that may have affected your academic performance.”</p>
