From accounting to marketing

I decided to switch from accounting to marketing. However, will it be hard to obtain a job in the marketing field? What is the average starting salary?

One more question, I am doing poorly in managerial accounting (I did pretty well in financial accounting). If I stick with accounting, will I do worse in Intermediate Accounting I, II, etc?

I wouldn’t say that it’s hard to obtain a job in marketing, although it may be more difficult than accounting. It also seems like marketing/sales get laid off before accounting when layoffs occur, but that’s only my experience and it may not represent what happens at other companies.

As to your other question, intermediate accounting is more related to your financial accounting class than your managerial, but it is much more difficult than either in my opinion. What subjects are you struggling with in your managerial class?

Ummm… like to prepare a budget, calculating operating leverage, which sector is profitable, the lease squares regression method, just to name some
It is because our professor teaches wayyyyy too fast! He teaches a chapter a week and have a chapter exam every week. Arrrr….
I am not learning anything at all!
