FSSP - when do we find out?

has anyone been notified of their acceptance status for fssp? i thought i read somewhere that students would be notified on may 1 through e-mail, so apparently i’m wrong. or i was stupid and messed up my e-mail on the application. does anyone know how and when we will receive notice?

Yea, I was just about to ask that. My parents are freaking out that I haven’t heard for some reason.

I recieved this email on April 25, I mailed my application on April 22. You might want to try contacting Jesse Bernal, but he hasn’t responded to the two emails I’ve sent him since then, so I don’t know what to tell you guys…

hmm. i sent my application in on april 19. well, it might’ve been the 20th, but either way it was that weekend.
i sent that jesse guy an e-mail earlier this afternoon. i hope he responds soon, if he responds at all.

I’m a little worried now. 350 spots seems tiny. Then again, who knows how many people like the idea of going to school over summer.

well, if you’re going to go to school somewhere for summer, why not santa barbara

Thats exactly why im worried. I want to take part in FSSP and it seems like its popular with a small amount of spots open.

I think your guarenteed in as long as you turn in the papers before the 5/1 deadline… I think… I havnt heard back from them either… I sent my studd in in mid April

i heard that they max out at 600, but im not sure on that, i think i heard people saying that at spring insight (i didnt go to the fssp discussion though), im surprised though that no one else has heard…

jesse bernal e-mailed me back today. here’s what he said:

We are in the process of inputting all of the application data we have received and notices should be sent out by noon tomorrow.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Jesse

i asked if we would be notified through mail or e-mail, but he didn’t say. i hope it’s e-mail, that way we’d know sooner.

My guess is that it will be online, I emailed him a question about registration since one of the classes I’m planning on taking is already half full (Math 3B). He said that information will be out tomorrow, so it will probably all be part of a mass email thing to everyone.

For FSSP, can we sign up for classes online somewhere, or do we do it all at orientation?

for fssp, you can either mail in your registration, or do it online, by the looks of it, it doesnt really seem to matter, except id probably lean towards doing it online on GOLD
i got an email from jesse saying they will try to get you in classes that may already be full which seems favorable for paper reg. still

what classes are recommended to take first? I’ll be a bio major (probably MCDB), so is it better to take classes that fill up during the fall? math and english?

also, how do we “create a quarter” on the GOLD site? I’m getting this message: We do not have a registration record for you for this quarter. If you are trying to register for Summer courses you have to create the quarter on the Registration Info page.

from the looks of the packet, it needs to be mailed in, but you can email your preferences earlier

hopefully you all got the email now

i didnt get the email… did anyone not get the email as well?

i got the same email today and it said at the top that some of you may have already recieved this

call on monday, they say they are taking apps still until it fills up, so you should be fine
