FSU Early Action for Fall 2024 Admissions

We got the “support your student email” and haven’t heard anything yet today for Regular Decision.

Not looking good for us… OOS with 3.84 unweighted GPA, 1350 SAT.

In the same boat. SAT/ACT/CLT scores all towards the lower end of the 25/75 range. GPA is in there, but I think test scores sadly will sink us. Expect the worst, hope for the best.

Decisions come out at 4pm today. Good luck!

Anyone know when Honors decisions come out? I heard they’re coming out today

Wow thanks so much for digging that up. This years EA stats were slightly higher than last years, but not by a lot. And it also shows that last years EA and RD stats were basically the same.

So if the trend holds, expect this to basically be the stats for the class of 2028:

Friendly reminder that all applicants receive a support your student email. I received one in December (for EA round) and was accepted. Best of luck!

While this may be true, the admit rate for EA dropped from 47% in 2023 to 38% in 2024 due to an increase in the number of in-state EA applications from 17,200 to 22,000 (roughly ~5000). The number of RD applications will certainly also be up. Last year FSU saw a 20% increase in the total number of applications. If FSU believes their yield rate will hold steady, the admittance rate for RD will certainly drop from the ~15% figure in 2023.

Yep, admit rate will surely drop again, by a lot. That’s why it’s interesting to me that the profile of the EA admitted student barely changed. Were the additional applicants lower in stats? Or are they simply rejecting a lot of students in the middle 50%?

I really hope these stats hold true. I think even with a decrease in admit rate, these stats could hold true for RD because a lot of people from OOS (who don’t understand how competitive the Florida University System is getting) apply and decrease the acceptance rate while not lowering the accepted averages.

That’s my hope too- basically a UTK situation.

I got the support your kid email as well and my son has stats well above their ranges. We are expecting an acceptance today but you never know. I don’t think the email means anything regarding your chance. Good luck to all.

If it is just an increase in applicants, the admit rate drops but the test scores and gpa don’t change because it’s an increase in all types of applicants. Admit rates have dropped from the past at many schools because there are so many more applicants due to how easy it is to apply many places with the common app. More high stats apply as a safety and more low stats apply as a flier just in case.

FSU admissions just posted this on IG. The academic profile for both EA and RD combined

Not nearly as high as I expected. We can calculate the acceptance rate for RD by subtracting the EA accepts. I’ll work on that.

Agreed.

So 71.8k last year to 76.7k this year. It seems the increase came entirely from from EA?

It appears to be 21% overall… 16749/76758

The stats are just a small uptick from last year.

Is that for RD only or EA combined?

Wow. The admit rate for FSU is under 22% all-in? OOS must be low.
