I got deferred, i have a 4.8 uw 3.9 w, 1380 SAT, and several extra circulars, and even founded a nonprofit

I have a question if anyone would be so kind to help. My son was deferred and immediately jumped on the site and filled out the deferral form with still interested intent. When doing this it asked if he would consider summer to which he checked yes. Does this increase his odds of getting in after deferment ?

Accepted!!! Totally in shock as I expected to be deferred but anyways stats: 29 ACT, 4.0 GPA UW, 6 APS, 6 Honors, editor for school newspaper, 150+ volunteer hours, and first gen. No scholarships unfortunately but I do have Bright Futures.
Accepted Summer term with Benacquisto (applied cause I genuinely want to start in the summer)
3.6UW and 4.15W (7AP/2DE), high income Asian female, 35 ACT superscore, NMSF, NSDA Academic All American/top 80 nationwide in a debate event, leadership in several school organizations and a national debate nonprofit, USABO Semifinalist, research related to career field, part time tutoring job, 300+ hours volunteering in various locations.
