FSU Fall Transfer 2010

Hi! I am currently at a CC and scheduled to graduated in May 2010 with my AA. I’d like to transfer to FSU for my Bachelors. Unfortunately, in the last year I have had a change of heart, from an anthropology major to a biochemistry major (major change, I know). I have met some of the pre-reqs (milestones) for FSU, but not all of them, because I feel I would have better experience with their lab materials. I have a 3.7 gpa, and am a member of the honors society. I wanted to know if I could still apply for a Biochem Major with out meeting these milesones, or if I could apply as another major I have the requirements for such as English, and then take the pre-reqs once there, and switch my major??

Let me know ASAP. I am submitting my application in the next week or so, as soon as grades are inputted for this semester.

I’m transferring from my CC to FSU for Spring 2010. My major went from English to history and now I changed it to Criminology just before I applied to FSU. Okay so I was kind of fickle for a bit, but I’m settled on criminology. Anyways, I don’t have any of the criminology pre-reqs done, a low GPA (3.17) and I still got accepted. And FSU ranks #7 for criminology in the US.

But let’s face it…criminology is probably like 10 times easier than the biochemistry major. I would try to do a general studies or English like you said and then change over. Although transferring with an AA from a CC will give you an edge on it, I’d still say it was risky. But you’d be a shoe in for an English major. Good luck!
