I have a large interest in learning Chinese and I would like to learn it. I think taking it as a class for my freshman year would be great. However, I’ve been taking French for each year in high school and it would be easy to fulfill my second language requirement by taking one class in French for a semester. Even though I want to learn Chinese, that does mean more work whereas taking French I can have the requirement fulfilled right away. What should I do?
You can take the one semester of French to complete the requirement and also take Chinese courses for your interest in it without being required to reach a certain level.
