full ride NM schools with no cockroaches

Ok, yes, you think I’m joking, but I’m not :-). Many of the full ride schools are in the south and S would prefer to not have these nasty bugs as part of his every day life. So, are there schools more in the north that are strong in sciences/engineering that are full ride and/or full tuition (with ability to make full ride)?

Thanks.

My kids have never seen a cockroach at their Southern school. What makes you think that seeing cockroaches is some kind “daily event” in the South?

I have lived in the South for a few years now and have never seen one. However, I can’t say the same for Calif where I used to live. And, cockroaches are certainly in the north as well.

I don’t think there are any full ride NMF scholarships in the north. I think Fordham and Northeastern may offer some full tuition…but I can’t say that they’re “bug free.”

Umm lol ***?!

Cockroaches in Pittsburgh–no full rides there though.

there are no cockroaches in the north?

There are cockroaches everywhere. That’s why the question is a mystery. It seems that the OP is under some impression that seeing cockroaches is some kind of common occurence here. I’ve yet to see one here.

Momster I am not sure that you have your facts straight about those nasty buggers! I grew up in Chicago and let me tell you it can be -35 degrees and you can see one…just not outside. I have seen them in restaurants, in my very first apartment my next door neighbor had them. Sadly they are everywhere as mom2collegekids says above.

I do have to say that we have visited 15 college campuses all over the Midwest and the South. Have never even seen a spider, much less a roach. Never heard anyone talk about it, and never seen it mentioned on a forum, etc. And trust me I think that if a school had a problem w/ pests, it would definitely come out on one of the forums don’t you?
However, if you keep your room clean. Don’t keep food in your room, you won’t have a problem with bugs…any bugs.

Besides I’d be more worried about bedbugs on a college campus than I would about roaches. Much tougher to eliminate bedbugs…
