How rare are full scholarships? What can I do to be competitive enough to get one, and do you have any tips on studying for the SAT?
I’m a freshman and here are my grades
Winterguard:100
Human Geo AP:97
Spanish II Pre-AP:93 -__-
English I Pre-AP: 97
Geometry Pre-AP: 97
Biology Pre-AP:98
I’m involved in color guard/winter guard, HOSA, Student council, and I volunteer a BUNCH over the summer at a hospital, and a theraputic recreation camp.
Plans for future years
-leadership in color guard junior&senior year
-summer research summer before senior year
-good SAT scores, aiming for National Achievement Scholar…but I know I am going to have to work EXTREMLY hard to do that
-good AP & ACT scores
My mom lost her job and has been trying so hard to get a stable job for like a year and a half, but she keeps getting laid off, this has put an immense financial strain on my family,so the only way I’m going to a decent college is if I get a full or nearly full scholarship, which I know is very competitive. If I maintain my grades and achieve my goals, will I be competitive, and can you give me some tips on what all I should do to get a good scholarship, and how to study for the SAT.
These are the colleges that I really want to go to
Reach schools (even if I get accepted (very slim chance) I would have to have a job and take out a LOT of loans to pay tuition) -Rice -Washington St Louis
-Schools that I actually have a chance at getting accepted to…idk about scholarships at these schools… -Texas A&M, UT Austin,Baylor University
Thanks in advance!
