Fullerton or Long Beach for Biology?

My son wants to ultimately attend Chiropractic school and is planning on getting a degree in Biology before applying for Chiropractic school.

He has been accepted at Cal State Fullerton and Cal State Long Beach. Is one school’s program superior to the other?

Congratulations to your son and I realise it’s controversial, but chiropractic’s is an ambitious career choice. :)

For Cal State I would recommend kinesiology over biology. It would be a more accurate degree to pursue for his career goals, because chiropractic’s focuses on the musculoskeletal and nervous systems. However, if he is passionate about biology I would recommend the Cellular and Developmental Biology major. It offers a lot of variety and will give him the opportunity to deepen his understanding of the body before entering chiropractic’s.

In regards to you question, neither program is truly superior to the other. I would personally go to Long Beach, because it focuses more on academics and I like the additional focus on athletics. However, neither will be a ‘bad’ choice, as long as he enjoys the campus and his degree, it’ll be a good 3-4 years of education.
