Fun care package ideas..

Tomorrow is Pi Day (3-14) so I just called a bakery near my daughter’s college (Carleton) and ordered a pie to be delivered tomorrow. It happens to correspond with her last final as an added bonus.

The other care package I’ve done several times is invite a group of mom’s to bring a few dozen treats to swap. I get a load of flat rate boxes, tape, and some note cards. We get to enjoy coffee and chatting while preparing care packages for our kids and the kids get a wide variety with a card signed by their friends’ moms.

Love the mom swap make packages idea, nice way to keep in touch with friends you primarily saw because of the kids after the kids have gone to college.

Curious - how are package deliveries typically handled in college? I know they have PO boxes, is there a notice, is is left by the dorm room door, is it held in the PO…?

At Carleton, she gets a notice in her mail box for anything too big to fit. However, if I send a small bouquet of flowers (there’s a tradition of Friday Flowers) it is tucked directly in the mailbox (which is unlocked). Friday mornings looked great with lots of bouquets sticking out of the kid’s boxes.
