fun for some, when visiting

(1) Stop by the Smart (Art) Museum and watch the big screen “Moby Dick” starring the artist and his young daughter. The Museum is kitty corner northwest of the orange dorm, Max P.

(2) Stop by the GSB (directly south across from Frank LLoyd Wright house). On the lower level in room C74 is the Decision Research Lab, grab some quick cash participating in studies which take only minutes. The Graduate School Business award winning building is worth a trip in itself just to see the winter garden, a good meet up spot.

Can non-students do studies at the DRL? I’m wondering because when you sign for studies they always ask for your student ID number.

Yes, some are ‘open to everyone’. Seems to be 3 - 5 on a random day. Some are for undergrads only. The first time you do one, they ask for your email and if you want, send you a daily list. Some studies are interesting, some annoying but brief. There are also on-line studies and by appointment studies, but I haven’t been around for those.

I forgot to mention yesterday: The ‘Moby Dick’ video is less than twenty minutes long.

lol. How much “quick cash” are you talking about? Care to give a range :D?

The GSB also has a good lunch selection. And, as long as one is in the neighborhood, drop by the Oriental Institute (University & 58th), my personal favorite.

Per study, two dollar to ten dollars or maybe more if there is a “performance bonus”. Don’t make a special trip, just something interesting on a visit to campus. The lucrative hours seem to be between eleven and three.

Boomer parents might want to catch “Shine a Light”, the Rolling Stone/Scorsese movie at the IMAX theater in Museum of Science and Industry, while your offspring unit explores campus. I forget what day of the week is free for the museum, anyway if you don’t have to pay museum admission to go to the IMAX.

I made my decision to go to UC after sitting in Bartlett talking with students about the school for hours (and going to a frat party that night) so do that I guess?

The Oriental Institute is pretty close to admissions, if you’re walking around.

At the Medici restaurant: I tried the almond soda/chocolate soda, sounds odd but really good!

Tonight is Looptopia, downtown if you are in Chicago.

If you are back from Looptopia (ended at dawn) why not take the
