My skinny jeans. My 15 yr. old asked to borrow my “mom” jeans (roomy in the seat/thighs) because apparently, they’re in. I’ve given up wearing anything with spaghetti straps.
I am not giving up my skinny jeans. They are the style that looks best on me.
Shorts with a 3" inseam, too short. The 5" seem really short this year.
I have to say I don’t think I’m too old for it. But I haven’t given in to any top I have to wear a strapless bra with. Just doesn’t feel comfortable
I’m not a fan of anything requiring a strapless bra either. Gravity is not your friend if you’re “well-endowed.” Have never liked strapless bras and worn them very rarely.
But I just got my first pair of skinny jeans recently! Out of fashion already? That always happens to me. If you want to know what clothing trends are on their way out, just check out any recent purchase by me.
Ouch, what a painful question to answer honestly. But, it’s an anonymous forum, so why not?
I have always adored leopard print anything. I have a fun summer top I have worn for several years. Yesterday, I saw it in my drawer, looking forlorn. I thought to myself, “Favorite leopard print shirt, I think we need to break up.” Then I closed my drawer, and a tear trickled down my cheek. Sorry, I hope I haven’t made anyone cry this afternoon.
Any skirt or short that hits much above the knee.

Skinny jeans staying in my closet too!
Me too!
I am tall and relativley thin. But, my shorts and skirts/dresses etc. get a little longer each year. I feel like I just have “old lady skin.”
I like tankinis, but I haven’t worn a bikini in several years. I feel like my stomach is getting bigger, and my behind is getting smaller, and not in a good way.
When I was younger, I was very thin, and I tended to wear my clothing fairly loose. Now I actually think wearing “baggy” clothes just makes me look worse.
I do not wear a bikini and would feel very uncomfortable at my 60+ age.
H and I go to all inclusive adult resorts in the winter every year. I am amazed at the woman who wear bikinis. I find when I talk to them or hear them they are not American. They have no shame about their bodies. More power to them!
But for me-- a black one piece or maybe a simple design is what I feel comfortable in. I am not skinny, nor am I obese. But I do have a three times C section belly. So I am self conscious.
@1214mom …i feel that way about my skin. It’s still not too bad, but if course I can tell. It seems thinner. And the skin on my inner thighs, well, let’s just say gravity is winning. With exercise, my thighs and hamstrings feel pretty good, but what’s up with that inner thigh skin?
Agreeing with others about the effects of gravity - what a heartless _itch she is!
I am small and exercise regularly. It’s not the size of my person - it’s the consistency of my flesh!! Saggy, wrinkly, etc.
I definitely have the arms/shoulders to do any of the current trends in tops - it’s the girls who are causing problems. I. Can. Not. find a strapless bra that will work for me. I am clearly in need of some advanced structural engineering!!!
Won’t wear anything that requires a strapless bra or shows my knees.
Right around 51 or 52, I looked in the full length mirror and said NEWP to a summer dress that was above the knee with bare legs. I’ll wear above the knee, even mid-thigh in the fall and winter with tights. But not in the summer.
I see women much older than I am who are not embarrassed to wear sleeveless shirts, or shorts or skirts above the knees. I think, for me, it’s going to be similar to how I felt when I got those first grey hairs. I couldn’t wait to dye over them. But when there were ENOUGH grey hairs, I stopped dying my hair.
So, I just need MORE wrinkles and saggy skin and I’ll be okay.
@Hoggirl , I have a great strapless bra, with straps that can be added. Looked for years. I am slim and not buxom. It’s by Maidenform, called “comfort devotion”.
@Lindagaf - thanks for the the suggestion. I will look into that brand. I wouldn’t say I’m “buxom,” but I am rather so for the size of my frame. They’re real, but they are most definitely NOT spectacular (to quote part of a Seinfeld episode). Lol. I could use a surgical lift, but I’m not doing that.
When I most recently tried on strapless bras, the young and gravity-defying young woman helping me and seeing me in one I was trying on said, “Oh. They should be up higher.” Ha ha! Yes, my dear. That is the problem! Tightening the band as tight as it would go looked terrible in the back and still wouldn’t really stay up. I haven’t given up yet - I’ve read that long-line bras can provide more support.
As to the wrinkly knees and the wrinkly above the knees? This is why we plea to retire to the beach in Florida, NO ONE cares or minds.
@Hoggirl , my sis is much more curvy than me and bought the exact same one. She loves it.
@Hoggirl …try Wacoal Red Carpet strapless. You can get it a zappos.
I have tried the last two years to buy a one piece but always end up in a (modest) bikini. The two piece is more flattering. The one piece just seems to emphasize my middle. YUCK.
@conmama - just ordered the strapless bra you suggested. From reading all the comments, I ordered down one band size and up one cup size. I will report back! Thanks!
