<p>For instance: “I think the point of going to a conservatory is to do the things that they offer at the conservatory. I don’t see the point in going to Juilliard, for instance, and being like, okay, all I’m going to do is complicated electro-acoustic music. The point, surely, of an august old organization like Juilliard is to kick your ass in harmony, have Mary-Anthony Cox walk all over your body for ear training, and to study set theory until you find yourself twelve-counting in the subway…”</p>
