Subject: Question Regarding Housing

Dear Admissions Committee:

I have a serious question about your on-campus housing facilities.
I’m trying to decide between Princeton and Yale for my safety school,
and any additional information you provide will be helpful in my
decision.

Do your dorms have cable TV? If so, do they receive HBO? Cinemax? Showtime?

Thank your for your assistance. I look forward to hearing from you.

(my name)

Dear XXXX,

Thank you for writing.

Our OIT Computer Department maintains the campus cable TV network. Each dorm room is equipped with a cable TV connection. TigerTV is offered in three levels of service (the basic level is provided with no additional cost to you; subsequent levels of service are fee-based).

Good luck with your choice of colleges.

Rofl, you know that guy who replied to you must have chuckled.

lol! wow did you actually do that?
Major props to you; that is hilarious. Give us more!!

when my friends do something like that–we say he is “WAAAAAAAAAY too proud”
everyone at princeton admissions prolly knows you now (this seems to be one of those “pass around the office” things)

Are you applying? I hope it doesn’t hurt your chances!

i dont think it will; the letter doesnt seem offensive. kids do lots of crazy things to get noticed…and in the end adcoms will just be like “oh that was the guy who…” but, if anything, it proves sabnetwork has a sense of humor…a characteristic colleges have found increasingly attractive.

anyways, good luck if you are actually applyiing.

"kids do lots of crazy things "

You should know Valdez

No, I’m not applying  Princeton will answer any question if it means stealing a student from Yale; they are rivals in the admissions process.

I made up some follow-up questions with some friends. I’ll post them soon.

dude, thats awesome

Haha, very cool, very cool. I think you should go into the auto-accept pile just for that.

Ask where the most convienient place for underage kids to get some booze is at.

:)

that was great! Now, ask that question at a school you’re applying to, and re-post for us.

That’s so punny!

As promised. Sorry it took so long.

1a. I see that you have a “no pets” policy in your residence halls. However, I have a goldfish that needs regular attention and my parents won’t be able to feed him while I’m in college. Could this be an exception?

1b. Thank you for your kind gesture-- my goldfish can live now. However, there is another issue. At my house, I have a parakeet named Johnny. Johnny gets lonely whenever the fish tank gets moved, and I’m afraid that he will fall into depression if my goldfish leaves. Would it be okay to have my parakeet in the dorm as well?

I am very happy to hear about your cable TV offerings in the dorm. However, Yale replied to my inquiry and claims to offer all four premium movie channels, too. Would you happen to offer any adult entertainment channels? If not, are these features available on pay-per-view?

haha. good thing youre not applying to princeton, or they would think you’re some kind of nut. they probably already do

lol I can’t wait to hear the reply on that one!

This is hilarious… I think I might do something like this, too (to a school that I’m not applying to, of course). ;)

wow! sab, have you received the reply?

I love question #2…I can’t wait to see this reply.

I wonder if it would help my “Kentuckian” case if I emailed and asked whether the WA sells chewing tobacco. =)

omg hahaha :D
