Fundraiser help - mailbox wraps and flags

I’m striking out on-line looking for a fundraising company that sells mailbox wraps and small yard flags. I’ve found many companies that sell the products, but the ones I’ve called do not do fundraisers and only sell through gift stores or on-line full price. Has anyone sold or know of a company that does this? Specifically, I would like to offer four mailbox wraps and flags for each season, an (Philadelphia) Eagles combo, Penn State and a custom made one with our school logo. All of these items are very popular around here and I’ve never seen them offered outside of gift stores.

I have found a couple of fundraisers on-line but they lump the items I want to sell with candy and wrapping paper. Our school will not allow us to sell candy and I’m not interested in selling wrapping paper. Suggestions?

kathiep, if you can’t locate a source, you might try asking a retail store for their buyers’ info. If they are reluctant to give it to you, maybe they’ll sell a huge quantity to you at a discount. Good luck!

I kind of did that. I found the company whose products I would like to sell but they will only sell to gift stores, even when I offered to print up the brochures. She offered me 20% off the retail price, which is pretty poor for a fundraiser.

Kathie…I hate to say this…but maybe the reason this can’t be found as a “stand alone fundraiser” is that it just isn’t something that SELLS all that well to a lot of folks in a community.

Typically fundraisers are things that can be sold to a large number of people…and usually “consumables” sell more (think edibles…).

I know that I wouldn’t buy a mailbox cover or a small flag…not at all…and I would be less inclined to buy something like this if I thought all my neighbors were likely to be buying the same thing.

What about selling pies or cookie dough? Our school doesn’t allow candy, but they do allow these.

I really feel out of it - what is a mailbox wrap?

You could be right Thumper, but they’re big around here. Half of the people on our street have either a garden flag or a mailbox cover. I got lucky this afternoon though and found a vendor!

We can’t do pies because band does pies and I personally hate selling $2 worth of cookie dough for $10. Fundraisers are funny because you want to find something that EVERYONE wants but that’s pretty much impossible. I’m guessing that this will work. The one that the kids want is Yankee Candles, something that I’m not a bit interested in!

I looked at the site - I would buy the doormat.

So funny how things vary according to area. Around here…poinsettias and oranges are the big fund raisers. I seriously doubt I could sell a mailbox wrap or a flag.

You live in the NE.

sadly, mailboxes are obsolete in our neck of the woods. We have to walk down the street to a community mailbox…

We also have the community mailboxes. However, I live in Texas and we LOVE American flags!
