Fundraising for a summer program?

<p>Has anybody had a successful story fundraising for himself/herself for a certain summer program?</p>

<p>Some people get jobs, babysit, walk dogs, do miscellaneous jobs (post flyers/send emails), hold car washes, do bake/garage sales etc.</p>

<p>Kids at my school have gotten sponsors before.</p>

<p>I wanted to go to LeadAmerica a few years, which was about $1800. I wrote one generic letter asking for donations and sent it to every local business I could, then followed up with a phone call. It actually worked out pretty well for me, some donated a lot and some donated very little but it all helped! :]</p>
