Funnest Area

I am looking for the Green Line stop between Harvard Ave. and St. Paul that is the funnest area. Any recommendations? I think there are about seven stops to choose from.

Are you limited to the B line? It’s kinda lame. I would actually recommend the C or D lines; both of them have stops close to BC (Cleveland Circle and Reservoir, respectively). If you’re stuck on B, you’re limited to a small stretch of Comm Ave right around BU (gross! haha) but I would recommend Babcock St and going directly across the street to UBurger to eat – it’s amazing (T. Anthony’s is also great for pizza, a couple of doors down). Aside from dining, though, that whole strip isn’t a ton of fun unless you like Firestone Tires and cheap bars.

A little between Allston St. and Griggs St./Long Ave is DoReMi Karaoke, which is a lot of fun if you have a group. It’s not right on Comm. Ave but it’s about a 10 minute walk when you get off on Comm. Ave

These are great. Thanks. Keep 'em coming.

What C or D stops that are the nearest to BC (let’s say within 20 minutes) are in really fun areas?

If you take the C or D line, the one downside is you have to walk about a mile from the nearest stop to get to campus. The upside, though, is that it’s a really pleasant and beautiful walk along Beacon St around the Chestnut Hill Reservoir. That said, I would recommend Coolidge Corner on the C line. This is actually in Brookline, but there are a ton of fun shops in CC, a great movie theater, and it’s just a really charming and lively area given that it’s not some downtown mecca. For eating, I suggest Ana’s Taqueria one stop (or a quick walk) away from Coolidge Corner to the Summit Ave stop. If you go here, it’s only about a 10 minute ride to Cleveland Circle Station at the end of the C line where you’ll be deposited right next to Mary Ann’s, the (in)famous BC bar, where you can walk along the Reservoir back to campus like I said.
If you want a little more suburban feel, Newton Centre on the D line is only 2 stops outbound from Reservoir (pretty much in the same location as Cleveland Circle Station) and it has a lot of nice shops and eats with a much quieter, spread out feel. Note that I live about 3 blocks from Newton Centre so I probably go there more than most, but it’s a nice place – but not the best place to get a feel for Boston and have fun.
Remember that downtown Boston isn’t really more than 30 minutes away by subway from BC anyway, so you have a lot of access at any time. If it’s your first time here, though, I would definitely start with Coolidge Corner.

Are you going to Accepted Student Day?

^ Don’t forget, if it’s cold out or you just don’t feel like making that walk, the BC Shuttle has a stop right at the D line and 1-minute walk away from the C line!
