funny admissions stories

probably the most well rounded senior in my senior class, a girl who immigrated here during middle school, and as a freshman took precalculus (basically 2 years ahead by my schools standards), and an amazing writer - school newspaper editor, won several big writing competitions, etc. qualified to nationals in FBLA, academic decathalon, blah blah. 2400 SAT, etc.

got accepted to harvard, MIT, stanford, princeton, but got REJECTED from columbia, new york, and chicago…

Tufts Syndrome

what is tufts syndrome?

Err I wouldn’t say Columbia suffers from Tuft’s syndrome. Maybe this person wasn’t what these schools were looking for…

Columbia definitely isn’t Tuft’s syndrome. That’s how unpredictable admissions is for the top level.
