So, everyone’s tensely calculating their AI and breathing heavily waiting for Dec 15th, so I thought I could post a little tension-breaker :)

I am applying RD due to my school being unable to print diplomas until Jan, but I already submitted my common app + supp. I wrote the entire thing in MSW 2007, but due to some connection problems I had to move the entire app over to a computer that runs MSW 2003. Apparently, it thought that my former gf’s name, which was an integral part of my main essay (mentioned 5 times), was misspelled (a Norwegian name, Silje), and it automatically replaced it with “slimy”.

And, of course, I did not discover this until after submission. I PANICKED BIG TIME. So I spent the next day printing out a corrected application, and sent it by regular mail today.

I still kept the original essay though, as it is quite hilarious to read about how “slimy” affected my life in an intimate way. I can’t help but laugh and think about what the admissions officers would’ve thought.

Morale… ALWAYS CHECK YOUR ESSAYS, AND DON’T TRUST WORD! :P

Nothing to do with college submission process but pretty funny too:

The American Family Association obviously didn’t foresee the problems that might arise with its strict policy to always replace the word “gay” with “homosexual” on the Web site of its Christian news outlet…OneNewsNow’s reliable software changed the Associated Press story about Tyson Gay’s amazing Olympic qualifying trial to read this way:
