I took a practice lower level test last spring and the night before, I had watched the first half of the Lion King and ate pizza and then the next day I watched the second half in the morning while eating corn flakes, even though (choate 07’ applicant pool inside joke) I prefer rice krispies. Anyways, I finish the Lion King and don’t study at all before the SSAT’s I just go to the testing location play frisbee with my friends, who were also there, right before the test and at the snack time I eat a vanilla yogurt super-protein bar. When scores came back I had a 99 overall. In October I take the test again and follow some other weird routine. I get a 92 overall. Then I take the test again in November and follow the same routine as the first time: Pizza, Lion King, Corn Flakes, Frisbee, Protein Bar. The results came back and my final score was overall 98. Lion King is my favorite movie! A perfect example showing that once you find a good routine that suits you, it really helps.

My daughter and I enjoyed your amazing
story-we are doing our revenge of the nerds
laughing impression now!
We always where our pocket protectors to the SSAT the night before…
and we eat Macaroons…and play chess…
NYUK NYUK

Don’t you mean Choate '11?

Olivai- my daughter sez GOOD POINT!!

The night before my SSAT testing I was up until 3! I’m so stupid – I did EVERYTHING you’re not supposed to do before a test. I stayed up late, barely ate, and was dehydrated. I was all spaced out and everything on the day of the test, and was prepared to apply to a local day school because I just sort of knew I was going to get a really, really bad score. And then I got a 98, and I was like… WHAT? (I was so spaced out on the day of the test that I walked into my kitchen, stood there for ~5 minutes, and then wondered outloud what I was doing there.) Hopefully, just hopefully, I can pull it off for the SAT’s as well.

Good point for what, waitlistman? :)

just blowing off some steam olivia…showed my daughter the site…and she
was poking fun at some of the threads so we thought we would play sour grapes at Exeter expense (its the only one that rejected her :))
