hilarious and uplifting. thanks, ss.

Heeheee…it’s nice to see that my alma mater is not the only one who beats up on 'em!

Not a criticism, SS. I know this is all in fun. But I’ll just note that we know a fabulously talented actress (who is also brilliant!) who is now at USC & definitely sold on its academic & career aspects, and definitely no beauty or a person focused on body image whatsoever. Her assets are of the mental & artistic variety.

I know you’re not yourself making a comment on the school, but I’m also aware of the reputation it has for the aspects spoofed in the fake app. Poor USC probably takes the rap because of its high visibility, but I will not name a competing U down there that may beat it for superficiality aspects of its student body (in the appearance, $$$, and clothing category).

A tiny bit of maybe, irony, Stanford folks, coming from you?;)

Note that this is 20+ years old.

Not that you would notice.

Oooh…that really stings! I guess I’ll go toss out the Wodehouse book I’m reading, 'cause it’s pretty old. So I guess it can’t be funny anymore.

StickerShock: I apologize for using colloquial, rather than correct, grammer, which (because of its ambiguity) seems to have offended you.

Unlike the “you” in my previous sentence, which refers to you, StickerShock, the “you” in my previous post meant “one”, the average reasonable person, i.e., me. My point was not that you, StickerShock, had failed to notice that the parody was past its use-by date, but rather that, much like the best of P.G. Wodehouse’s work, its luster had not been dimmed by time. You – one, I – would not notice its age, because it remains pertinent and funny.

I apologize for the mistaken impression. Thank you for posting the link. It is hilarious.

I guess I was much too quick to take offense, JHS! Sorry. I’m currently being called dense on another thread & I guess I’m a tad hypersensitive.

I think this is my favorite line: “Have you read a book this year? If “yes,” why?”

This little “spoof” is about 4 years old. An improvement for leland J. JUNIOR university which is usually about a decade behind the times.

not that it matters, but all california schools blurr together in my eastern mind
