For white elephants, my go to is something the recipient might actually use (e.g. faux fur throw, gloves), placed inside an prank box for laughs.

I like that idea. (You might even find a box around the house that works for a gag; Garbage bags, Cereal, etc). Then if recipient cannot use the gloves or blanket, it could be donated to a nonprofit organization.

I ordered a pizza blanket and a tortilla blanket!

Seemed useful and perhaps desirable for regifting purposes.

The party is on the 14th. I’ll report back as to how popular my choices were (in terms of reactions stealing) and what others brought.

I really liked Snoop on the Stoop, but the ones below the price limit set by the host were unlicensed. I didn’t want to cheat ol’ Snoop out of royalties for his likeness/image by buying a dupe.

I forgot to come back to this.

Apparently, someone had brought the tortilla blanket last year. It was a smaller group than expected (some ill, some traveling), so not much stealing. Our hosts’ adult daughter and sil got both blankets (tortilla and pizza)
and were excited to have them for their 10 and 7 year olds

The two most popular items for theft at last night’s gift swap were a chinese squash that my brother got from a neighbor and a bottle of red wine in a fancy bag. Gummy bears and a personal blender were also stolen a few times as was popcorn with a $2 bill and a few other gifts. D was happy we ultimately took the squash home!
