I applied EA as a neuroscience/psychology major. I visited the campus in late June and absolutely loved everything about it. The overall price tag is more than I can afford so I’m hopeful for enough merit that will put it into a comparable range with other schools I’ve applied to.
Based on previous years threads it looks like admissions don’t start rolling out until November/December timeframe…the waiting is the worst part of this whole process!

Furman is generous with merit. Best of luck. The wait is worth it.

When does Furman release EA decisions?

Common App says Furman U releases decisions for EA by Jan 15.

I’m hoping decisions are released before the 15th! Having applied in August this waiting is agony!

Our son is a freshman Neuroscience/pre health major. He LOVES it there…he was dying to get back to Greenville yesterday.

EA decisions all came out at 5 pm on the 15th. Social media (Instagram) will make a post about an hour or two before release to your portal. Our son was a wreck, as were we. He’d been accepted to many great schools by that point, but Furman was his #1.
It’s not cheap, but as a parent with a kid that plans to attend medical school, Furman has done their homework designing their programs to get these young adults ready for whatever life will throw at them. Gonna take us years to pay undergrad loans off, but my wife and I wouldn’t hesitate after seeing how much he’s grown in 5 short months.

Best of Luck!

That’s great to hear! I absolutely loved the campus when I had my tour in June, and the two tour guides were great! I’ve gotten some great offers from some of the schools I’ve applied to so I’m hopeful Furman will be similar!

Furman emphasizes building young adults that can solve problems on their own, not just in class, but dorm life, etc. They specifically ask parents to let their student figure it out. 2nd biggest thing is engagement both with professors, as well as activities on campus. They DON’T want students going home every weekend…and it’s not a suitcase college. There’s ALWAYS something to do (if you’re not studying). It’s rigourous…Out of 4 classes, our kid had his first B (Spanish 3), but we were warned in parent seminars MULTIPLE times "don’t be surprised if your A student comes home with a B or a C until they figure things out. It’s not an easy school, hence it’s reputation, but they’ll teach you and guide you on proper study habits, office hours with professors, etc. Classes are tiny, and our son is declared Neuro, and I think there’s less than 15 in that major for his class of 2027. If our son ever had a question, or needed help, professors were always available during their office hours. It’s a cool place.

Best of luck to all applicants

It looks like they released decisions last year at 5PM EST on Friday Jan 13! Hopefully they release tonight :purple_heart: !!! I have a feeling they might — they posted a little reel on Instagram earlier. I’m so excited & nervous.
